About Us
We came together in spring of the millennium year 2000 specifically in order to create a group of like minded friends who wished to preserve our Agricultural Heritage before the art slips away through our fingers, as the Old timers left the scene with no means of passing on their proven traditions. There were however one or two determined to do just that and a programme of recovery with the few heavy horses still around was set up.
They were Cyril Eddy, Brian Hicks, Roy Matthews, John Williams (deceased), Jimmy Rowe (deceased), plus one or two younger enthusiasts, who gave us the kick start we needed, and so we progressed.
Today we have over 50 friends in harness made up from all walks of life, including farmers and farm workers, people from other professions and from all sorts of other occupations.
We all make a contribution to our group which has a President, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and we all join together for our meetings and activities without a distinction between us. |
